Berck in VL2 at CC

The Charlie Clark Memorial for A Mods started out as a 44 lap race paying $2,022 to win. The number 22 honoring the late Charlie Clark, who’s car number was 22. The race was split into two-22 lap segments with a red flag break that allowed crews to work on car’s and make adjustments for the final 22 laps.

Last year, I-80 Promoter Joe Kosiski said let’s step it up a notch and pay $2,022 to win each segment. We will still have the red flag break but after its over we are going to invert 22 cars for segment two. That should make it interesting. Well interesting it was as in segment two Jesse Sobbing came from 21st to finish second (He also finished second in the first segment) and Kyle Berck who finished third in the first segment charged from his 20th starting position to win the second segment and be crowned champion of the Charlie Clark Memorial.

So the question is, will the same thing happen again this year? Sunday, May 25th brings the Sixth Annual Charlie Clark Memorial sponsored by Cookies Sauces and Seasonings back to I-80 Speedway. Also running along with A Mods will be the Nebraska 360 Sprint Cars racing for $3,022 to win, the B Mods racing for $1.022 to win and Hobby Stocks racing for $722.Driver’s can pre-enter at the track website, www.i-80speedway.com/i80/team-info/driver-pre-entry/charlie-clark/ and save money.
