I-80 Dirt Classic fast approaching at I-80
The United States Auto Club (USAC) non wing sprint cars return to I-80 Speedway on Friday, June 8 for the I-80 Dirt Classic. Following USAC Sprint Car action at Terre Haute, Indiana on May 23, Kevin Thomas, Jr. leads the USAC point standings with 653 points followed by Chris Windom at 622, defending I-80 Dirt Classic winner Tyler Courtney at 601, C. J. Leary at 561 and Chase Stockton at 551.
Joining the USAC Sprints at the I-80 Dirt Classic are the Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series paying $2,000 to win and $400 to start. Omaha’s Ben Schaller leads the Malvern Bank Series points with 374 followed by defending series champion tad Pospisil of Norfolk at 360 with Jason O’Brien of Atlantic, Iowa third at 360, bill Leighton, Jr. of LaVista fourth at 344 and corey Zeitner of Omaha with 342.
Unsanctioned Mods will also be racing for $1,000 to win and $100 to start. Pit gates open at 3 pm, Gramdstamds at 5:30 pm with qualifying at 7 pm. Pit Passes are $40, Adult Grandstand Admission $25, Juniors (6-12) $5 with five and under free as always.
