Options for non-completed races of 2014 Cornhusker Classic

After giving a great deal of thought to what we think would be best for the non-completed feature races from the 2014 Cornhusker Classic we have came up with the following options. While Joe mentioned that those races would be made up at the Bugeater Bash in April, we are now thinking that it would be better to make them up on the qualifying nights of the 2015 Cornhusker Classic.

However, we would like your input. Please read and respond by e-mail or phone by friday. If the majority choses to have it made up at the Bugeater Bash then we will do so.

Driver’s must have been on the posted line up sheets on Sunday’s Championship night to be eligible for monies or voting. The driver is who is qualified/not the race car.

For the A Mods, all A Feature qualified cars that return for the make-up feature will race the 2014 Championship night with the same purse of $3,000 to win and $200 start with the bonuses if won. That race will be a complete restart of 30 laps as originally posted. For driver’s who would like to opt out and not show up we will pay them $250 if they call the office (402-342-3453) between 8 am and 4 pm or e-mail us at office@i-80Speedway.com by October 31. Those driver’s opting out will not be eligible to run the 2014 make up feature at the 2015 make up date.

For the A Mod Last Chance Bash, that race will also be made up at next year’s Cornhusker Classic and the driver’s electing to do so will race for the posted purse of $400 to win and $75 to start. For those driver’s who would like to opt out, we will pay them $90 if they contact by e-mail/phone the office by October 31. Again driver’s opting out will not be eligible to run the 2014 LC Bash at the 2015 make-up date.

For the B Mods/Hobby Stocks. All A Feature qualified cars that return for the make-up feature will race the 2014 Championship night with the same purse of $1,000 to win and $80 start with the bonuses if won. For those driver’s who wish to opt out we will pay them $100 if they contact the e-mail/phone by October 31. Those driver’s opting out will not be eligible to run the 2014 make up feature in 2015.

For the B Mod Last Chance Bash, that race will also be made up at next year’s make up date and the driver’s electing to do so will race for the posted purse of $200 to win and $40 to start. For those driver’s who would like to opt out, we will pay them $50 if they e-mail/phone the office by October 31. Again driver’s opting out will not be eligible to run the 2014 LC Bash at the 2015 make up date

As announced at the pit meetings, checks for this year’s completed Cornhusker Classic races that have not been handed out at the Cornhusker Classic will be mailed out by week’s end if you completed your forms correctly. Those drivers still having an I-80 transponder will not have their checks mailed out until we receive the transponders at the I-80 office, 5040 “I” Street, Omaha, NE 68117. Since three features were completed, all grandstand tickets and pit wristbands will be treated as a completed show.

As a side note, the following drivers received a bonus for winning two out of three completed features; Kyle Vanover in the ProAm/Stock Cars for $500 and Dillon Richards in the Hornets for $100. Finally, we want to thank all the drivers, crews, fans, track personnel and especially our event sponsor Speedway Motors for making the 2014 Speedway Motors Cornhusker Classic a great event.
