Cornhusker Classic Qualifying Procedure & Race Information

 

The top 16 drivers in points from qualifying day(s) will advance to the final days A feature.

For the A Mods, B Mods, ProAms/Stock Cars & Hornets, Grand Nationals and Hobby Stocks, they will receive points both Friday and Saturday and points from both days will be added together to determine final point total.

All other cars will run either a B or C feature. B features will start a maximum of 16 cars with the top four transferring to the A feature. If a class has 32 cars or less then the remaining cars not qualifying for the A will all run in the B. If 33 cars or more are in a class, then cars 17th thru 28th in points will run the B and the remainder of the cars will run a C with the top four transferring to the B.

Points will be awarded for heat races and features on qualifying nights. Heat race points will be 75, 60, 50, 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15 & 10. A Feature points will be 200, 175, 160, 150, 140, 130, 120, 110, 100, 95, 90, 85, 80, 75, 70, 65, 60, 55, 50 & 45. B Feature points will be: 40, 37, 34, 31, 28, 25, 22, 19, 16, 13, 10, 7. Draw/Redraw on Friday & Saturday nights for classes running preliminary features.

In the case of ties, the driver with the highest finish in Friday’s feature races will win the tie-breaker. For the final day’s A feature races, the top six drivers in points will redraw.

All classes will have a Last Chance race on Sunday for cars not making the A features . The Last Chance races will be one lap longer than the number of cars in the race with a maximum of 12 laps. You must run the Last Chance race to receive tow money.

The SLMR will run a regular SLMR program on Saturday. The NE 360 Sprints will run a regular NE 360 program on Saturday.

The Lone Ranger rule will be in effect for heats and qualifying features. Two spin rule for Championship features.

Race time Information: Pill-Draw cut-off one hour before scheduled race time.

Drivers meeting one hour before scheduled race time.

Friday Pits open at 3pm, Grandstands at 5:30 with racing at 7:15.

Saturday Pits open at 2pm, Grandstands at 4:30 and racing at 5:55

Sunday Pits open at 2pm, Grandstands at 4:30 and racing at 5:55

Adult Grandstand Admission is $10 on Friday and $20 on Saturday and $12 on Sunday.

Adult Three-Day Grandstand pass $30. Must be purchased online by October 7. If two of three shows are completed no refunds.

Juniors (6-12) $5 each day and Kids 5 and under free each day.

Pit Passes are $30 per day. Can be purchased on line.

Races: Heat races for Grand Nationals, B Mods, ProAms & Hobby Stocks will be six laps.

Preliminary features will be 15 laps and Championship features 20 laps. A Mod heats will be eight laps with preliminary features 20 laps and Championship feature 30 laps. Hornet heats will be five laps, preliminary features 10 laps and Championship feature will be 12 laps. The SLMR will run their standard program of eight lap heats, and a 25 lap A feature. NE 360 Sprints will run their regular program.
