The Spring Meltdown has became an I-80 tradition

The Spring Meltdown has became the traditional opening event at I-80 Speedway and in 2016 things will be no different. The two day event kicks off the 2016 schedule on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2. Once again headlining things with be the Super Late Models and 360 Sprint Cars.

The Meltdown will feature the Super Late Models of the Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) and the Cornbelt Clash (CBC) Last year, Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, Iowa and Jim Shereck of St. Charles, Missouri picked up feature wins at the Meltdown. Terry Phillips is the defending MLRA Champion and Chad Simpson is once again the CornBelt Clash Champion.

The Nebraska 360 Sprints return to the Meltdown with Jack Dover of Springfield, Nebraska as their 2015 series champion. Last year at the Meltdown Brian Brown of Grain Valley, Missouri won both features in the 360 sprints.
