Bobby Parker Memorial coming to I-80 on May 3
I-80 Speedway is once again hosting the annual Bobby Parker Memorial, this year on Friday, May 3. The event will once again pay $2,500 to win and $500 to start. There will also be a $300 Podium Draw sponsored by Electrical Systems and a $200 Hard Charger Award sponsored by Speedway Motors for the Bobby Parker Memorial. The event will be co-sanctioned by the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series and the MSTS 360 Midwest Sprint Touring Series.
The race honors the late Bobby Parker who won close to 300 features in midgets throughout the Midwest as well as the first Modified Stock Car championships at Sunset Speedway in 1957 & 1958. Parker was inducted into the Nebraska Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2000.
“I can’t thank the friends of my dad and others enough who have stepped up and added monies to the purse to make the Bobby Parker Memorial a special race.” says Dennis Parker, President of the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series.
Also racing will be NASCAR sanctioned Jack Daniels Modifieds, Ty’s Outdoor Power & Service SportMods, Rotella’s Stock Cars, Certified Transmission Hobby Stocks and River City Heating & Cooling Compacts. It’s also Bud Light Night sponsored by Quality Brands of Lincoln.
Grandstand Admission is $12 for Adults, $5 for Juniors (6-12) with Five and under free as always. Pit Passes are $20 for NASCAR Members and $30 for Non-NASCAR Members. Racing starts at 7:15pm.
