2016 Cornhusker Classic Qualifying Procedure & Race Information
At this year’s Cornhusker Classic we are racing only Friday, October 7 & Saturday, October 8. Stock Cars, Bragging Rights Late Models, Hobby Stocks and Compacts will run complete shows both Friday and Saturday with the top 6 from Friday’s feature locked into Saturday nights Feature.
On Friday night, the Modifieds and Sport Mods will be running double qualifying heats only (just like Super Late Models at the Silver Dollar Nationals). The top 15 drivers in points from Friday nights double qualifying heats (based on passing points) will advance to Saturday night’s A feature. The field will be filled by six or nine additionals cars added from 2 or 3 B features. If 35 cars or less in Modifieds and Sport Mods, the A feature will start 21 cars. If 36 or more cars we will start 24 in the A feature.
This means we will most likely take three cars from each of two B features or three cars from each of three B features to fill the field to 21 or 24 cars. The Modifieds and Sport Mods features will start three wide either seven rows (21 cars) or eight rows (24 cars) deep. The top six qualifiers will pick their starting spots in the first two rows with the highest qualfier choosing first, second highest second etc.
The Lone Ranger rule will be in effect for all qualifying races. Two spin rule for Saturday’s Championship features.
Race time Information: Pill-Draw cut-off one hour before scheduled race time.

Friday, October 7, Pits open at 2pm, Drivers Meeting at 6pm, Grandstands at 5:30 with racing at 7:15.
Saturday, October 8, Pits open at 2pm, Drivers Meeting at 5pm, Grandstands at 4:30 and racing at 6:00.
Adult Grandstand Admission is $10 for Friday and $15 for Saturday. Kids (6-12) $5 each night. 5 and under free as always. Pit Passes are $35 per day or $60 for the two days when purchased in advance and can be purchased on line thru Tuesday, October 4.
Races: Heat races for Grand Nationals, Stock Cars & Hobby Stocks and Compacts.
Friday features will be 15 laps and Championship features 20 laps for Grand Nationals, Stock Cars & Hobby Stocks. Compacts: Friday’s feature 12 laps and Championship feature on Saturday will be 15 laps.
Top six from Friday night’s features will be locked into Saturday night’s feature and the top six will be inverted. The top six will hot lap just prior to their classes heat races.
Modified and Sport Mods double heat races on Friday night. Modified feature on Saturday will be 40 laps. Sports Mod feature on Saturday will be 30 laps. Modifieds and Sport Mods will run non qualifier bashes on Saturday (limited to a maximum of 12 cars).
Any driver wanting to run more than one class will have to pay an additional $100 (plus an additional pit pass each day) for each extra class entered. Totaling $170 for each additional class
Speedway Motors will be giving out $50 gift cards for feature winners, hard chargers and mystery spots, Modified and Sports Mod heat winners and Bash winners at the Cornhusker Classic.
In case that Friday night rains out, we will run a one day show Saturday, October 8. We will still charge the total entry fee, pit passes will be $35. We will pay the Stock Cars, Grand Nationals, Hobby Stocks and Compacts their Saturday night purses. The Modifieds and Sport Mods feature purses will be 60% of their original Saturday night purse.
If Saturday night’s races are rained out we will work those Saturday night shows in during our 2017 schedule. They will not be completed in 2016.
