Extra Money on the line at the Midwest Fall Brawl V
When the Midwest Fall Brawl V hits the track at I-80 Speedway on Saturday, October 1, there will be plenty of extra money on the line. In addition to paying $6,000 to win and $500 to start in the ASCS National Sprint Car/Nebraska 360 co-sanctioned feature, the 35 lap event will also see a payout of $100 per lap thanks to many gracious fans. That payout sees first place getting $50 per lap, second place $30 and third place $20.
Then there is the extra money provided by Sprint Car diehards such as Don Long and the Searsboro Telephone Company who once again will payout $1,000 to the Hard Charger. Electrical Systems will also be returning to sponsor the Podium Draw which will pay out $500.
The event will also have a unique format that has been very successful at I-80’s Silver Dollar Nationals. Each driver will run two heat races. The first heat will be lined up by the draw and the next heat that a driver is in, they will start exactly opposite of how they started their first heat (Example: If you start your first heat on the pole, you will start your second heat dead last).
The top 16 in passing points from the double heats will qualify for the A Feature. 7th thru 16th will then run a six-lap position race with the top 4 to join the top six qualfiers in a fast dash. The finish of the fast dash will set the top ten spots in the feature. The position race will determine starting positions 11 through 16 in the feature.
The Malvernbank.com SLMR series will also be on hand with their feature paying increased monies with $1,500 to win and $400 to start. SLMR drivers with no more than one race missed in 2016 will be guaranteed an A feature starting position. After the feature is set we will add anyone with perfect attendance (missed one race or less) that has not made the feature.
Finally on hand will be the entertaining Nebraska Mod Lites. There regional event will pay $300 to win. Grandstand Admission is $20 for Adults, $5 for Juniors (6-12) with 5 and under free. Pit Admission is $35. The Pit gates will open at 3 pm with the Grandstands opening at 4:30 pm and racing at 6pm.
