Friday, June 23 is Whelen Night at I-80 Speedway. I-80 Speedway is proud to honor all local military, police and fire personnel. It is also the night we honor fallen Pottawattamie County Deputy Mark Burbridge.
Compact driver Jim Cahill will have a tribute wrap to fallen deputy Mark Burbridge on his race car and will do a lap around the track followed by a Pottawattanie Sheriff’s cruiser prior to the races.
It’s also Kid’s Bike Races, so kid’s grab your bikes and your parents and bring them out to I-80 Speedway.
Racing at I-80 on June 23 will feature the weekly NASCAR Whelen All American Series program of six classes of racing. Classes include; the Cubby’s Super Late Models, Custom Diesel Driver’s Training A Mods, Ty’s Outdoor Power & Service B Mods, Kosiski Auto Parts Bragging Rights Late Models, Rotella’s Stock Cars and River City Heating & Cooling Compacts.
Pit gates open at 4 pm, Grandstands at 5:30 pm with racing at 7:15 pm. I-80 Speedway is located one block north of Interstate 80 Exit 420, halfway between Omaha and Lincoln.
