Points battles shaping up at I-80 Speedway
The NASCAR Whelen All American Series returns to action on Friday, June 1 at I-80 Speedway and points battles are shaping up in every class.
In the Cubby’s Super Late Models, Ben Schaller of Omaha leads the way with 288 points followed by Andrew Kosiski of LaVista with 280 and defending champion Tad Pospisil of Norfolk with 276. Anthony Roth of Columbus is on top of the leaderboard in the Custom Diesel Driver’s Training Modifieds with 278 points followed by defending champion Travis Hatcher at 272 and Shane Hiatt at 262.
Roth also leads the Ty’s Outdoor Power & Service SportMod standings with 392 followed closely by defending champion Shawn Harker of Nebraska City at 390 and Matt Andrews of Seward with 368. Scott Carlson of Plattsmouth is the current leader in the Rotella’s Stock Cars at 392 with defending champion Nick Woodard of Elkhorn second at 356 and Shane Stutzman of Milford third at 348.
Defending champion Jacob Brown of Omaha leads in the Kosiski Auto Parts Bragging Rights Late Models with 290 followed by Andrew Tilley of Glenwood, Iowa with 276 and A. J. Jorgensen of Elkhorn at 264. Defending champion Luke Ramsey of Bedford, Iowa is once again atop of the Certified Transmission Hobby Stocks at 383 with Hunter Wergin of Milford second at 359 and Glenwood, Iowa’s Tom Myers at 358. Finally, Steffen Oaks of Lincoln is leading the River City Heating and Cooling Compacts at 366 with Larry Cronin of Lincoln second at 356 and Wayne Haidsiak II of Bedford, Iowa third at 350.
When action returns on Friday, June 1 all classes except the Custom Diesel Driver’s Training Modifieds will be action with grandstands opening at 5:30 pm and racing getting underway at 7:15 pm.
