While the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the fact that they are racing for $53,000 to win at the Seventh Annual Silver Dollar gets most of the headlines, the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) is the other half of what makes the Silver Dollar Nationals such a popular event for the fans.
While Rodney Sanders has dominated the USMTS part of the Silver Dollar Nationals the past few years, the action is still heated at witnessed by Sanders battle with Jason Krohn at last year’s Silver Dollar Nationals. With this year’s USMTS feature at the Silver Dollar Nationals paying $10,000 to win look for temperatures and competition to rise as the best modified drivers in the country battle it out.
The Seventh Annual Silver Dollar Nationals begins on Thursday, July 20 with the Prelude to the Silver Dollar Nationals featuring the Malvern Bank Super Late Models, Nebraska 360 Sprints and unsanctioned by Mods, the Lucas Oil and USMTS cars will be practicing throughout the night.
Then On July 21 & 22, its all about the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the USMTS Modifieds as they basically qualify on Friday night through double qualifying heats and bring down the curtain of the Silver Dollar Nationals on Saturday, July 22 with last chance events, the popular Belt Bash and their respective features.
